Five faces to watch
as the wrestling
postseason heats up

Andrew Planamento-Harrison (103 lbs.)
The Harrison standout has wins at both New Rochelle’s Shoreline and the Scarsdale Tournaments, and has only one in-section loss—a 3-0 decision to Sam Spina, the Fox Lane 103-pounder who took fifth at states last year.

In years past, Planamento’s Achilles heel has been his health. If he isn’t too banged up, however, it wouldn’t surprise many to see Planamento taking the mat with a section crown on the line.

Graham Zahringer - Rye (152 lbs.)
Zahringer, a seasoned veteran who has been wrestling for six years, has compiled a stellar 28-3 on the year. He earned a first-place finish at Rye’s Bernie Miller Tournament and was undefeated until late January.

A fourth-place finish at divisionals last season propelled Zahringer into the sectional tournament, and many believe he can once again make a push towards the later rounds of sectionals.

A border dispute over flooding fears that prolonged a road reconstruction project seems finally on the path to completion, town officials are saying.

Testifying before the town’s Zoning Board of Appeals two weeks ago wasn’t enough for Harrison resident Emil Toso, as he fights commercial development near his home on Fremont Street. Having tried and failed to make the members of the board see his interpretation of the Harrison Zoning Code, Toso has enumerated those interpretations of the code in a letter to the zoning and planning boards and the building department.
