To the Editor:
It will be far easier to deal with the absurdity of this mayor and Republican-controlled Town Board than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment that our voters here in Harrison lack, but more importantly their willingness to have such a “monarchy” running our once ‘great’ town of Harrison.

To the Editor:
The United States government and the individual states recognize that it is an immutable truth that revenue should be based on income because income is the true criterion of ability to pay. The only tax based on the market value of our homes should be that which is levied on the profit resulting from their sale. Instead, we have an annual market value penalty we suffer for the privilege of living in our homes.

To the Editor:
As many readers may know, St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan closed down recently. But what people may not realize is that St. Vincent’s Hospital in Harrison, a strictly psychiatric facility, is also in trouble. And for those of us who depend on their services, this is a serious concern.

To the Editor:
We just wanted to say thank you to everyone who played a part in planning and building Harrison’s new dog park. It is so wonderful to have a park that is close to home for our furry family member to enjoy. It is beautifully built, and we have been bringing our dog Keira there twice a day. She loves to play fetch there with our children. We are also looking forward to Keira making new friends with our neighbor’s furry family members, along with some new friends for us.

In the July 23 edition of your newspaper, a writer, who describes himself as a “…U.S. Navy WWII veteran and retired engineer,” takes issue with a column which supported the general fired by President Obama.
